Chocolate, nougat and brown sugar. Full-bodied and rich, roasted darker to develop the sweetness rather than the fruit, and built to be a potent shot.

Blue Bottle formulate this one specifically for espresso and it behaves like a classic dark espresso blend: forgiving on grind, heavy on crema, sweet rather than bright. As filter it is chocolatey and low-acid, closer to Dogspeed than to anything else here.

Water temperature
As filter, 195-200F.
Time
As espresso, 25-30 s. As filter, shorter contact.
Grind
One step coarser than the Dogspeed numbers for filter.
Dose and ratio
As espresso, 18 g in and 36 g out. As filter, around 1:17 to 1:18.

How to drink it. Made for milk. The chocolate and nougat carry straight through a latte or cortado, which is what it was designed for. Fine black as espresso if you like a sweet, heavy shot. Sugar is unnecessary.
