Hot Buttered Bourbon
Bourbon, honey, butter and hot water. The drink for a sore throat and an early night, and the butter is what makes it different from a toddy.

A hot toddy with butter in it, which sounds like an odd idea until you've had one with a sore throat. The butter gives it body and coats your throat in a way the honey alone doesn't, and it turns a thin hot drink into something that feels like it's doing you good.
I'm not claiming it cures anything. It makes an evening with a cold more bearable, which is a smaller and more honest claim.
Hot water, not boiling. Boiling water scalds the honey and drives the bourbon's aromatics straight off the top.

If it's not right
| What you see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Greasy rather than rich | water too hot, so the butter has split rather than emulsified. | |
| Harsh | water too hot again, or not enough honey. | |
| Thin | not enough butter, or it went in after the water had cooled. |
